The Climate Change Global Lectures is a world-wide dialogue and exchange program created by ICCSD in the field of climate, and has recently become a specialized course offered by ICCSD for Tsinghua students.
ICCSD invites climate leaders from around the world to share the ideas of climate change issues and national responses, as well as to share actions and initiatives on how to advance global climate change governance. Organized by ICCSD, the ‘Friends of the Paris Agreement’ High Level Dialogue serves as a non-governmental exchange mechanism that reunites people who have made important contributions to the Paris Agreement and its implementation rules. The mission of the Dialogue is to promote effective and sustainable implementation of the Paris Agreement .The first dialogue invited current and former environment ministers and negotiators from Asia, America, Europe and Latin America, as well as the special envoy and the deputy special envoy of UN Secretary-General for the 2019 Climate Action Summit. Representatives from ministries and commissions such as the Ministry of Ecological Environment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Development and Reform Commission also participated in the meeting to offer suggestions on the 2019 United Nations Climate Action Summit and the post-2020 implementation of the Paris Agreement. The outcome of the discussion at this meeting was forwarded to the Secretary-General of the United Nations.The dialogue conveyed important messages of multilateralism, political mutual trust, leaders' participation, leadership of major powers and broad participation achieved by nationally determined contributions.
